We’re collecting photos of your cars for our new Customers’ Rides section of our website. Once we receive enough photos we’ll load them up to the website and your car will appear in the homepage for your vehicle section. Send a decent quality 3/4 front view static or action shot of your car to photos@racingbeat.com and be sure to include your name, city, and state/country.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the MX-5 has been re-imagined with a darker, edgier attitude in the MX5 Super20. It’s a purposeful combination of street-tough style and motorsports-inspired attributes. This third generation vehicle acknowledges the iconic first-gen iteration with modifications such as a supercharged Cosworth engine, small diameter wheels, more substantial tire profile and wider fenders.
Additional modifications include a DPTune reflashed ECU, Racing Beat 304-stainless steel header and exhaust, ACT organic street clutch, MAZDASPEED coil overs, Racing Beat hollow front and rear anti-roll bars, MAZDASPEED shock tower brace, Power Slot slotted brake rotors, StopTech DOT-compliant stainless steel brake lines and street performance brake pads, SpeedSource front brake ducts, 16×9 Enkei RPF1 wheels wrapped with 245/45-R16 Toyo Proxes RA-1 R-compound tires, 20mm H&R Trak+ hubcentric bolt-on wheel spacers in the rear and 15mm Sparco hubcentric wheel spacers up front.
We spent Tuesday walking the vast halls of the 2010 SEMA Show in Las Vegas searching for new products to add to our parts line-up. The overall mood of the exhibitors seemed be “cautiously optimistic” as compared with last year and with most vendors being conservative with new product development in this economy. The Camaro and Mustang were heavily supported with new aftermarket products, Ford was promoting the Fiesta, Honda the CR-Z, and Mazda showcased several race-prepped vehicles. Racing Beat offered product support on the MX-5 display vehicle, included on the car were our sway bars, exhaust system, and exhaust header.
This blog page is just a teaser for what’s coming in the next few weeks. We’ve spent almost a FULL YEAR working on updating our old, outdated frames-based website into a much more streamlined site with a much improved shopping cart feature. Virtually all of our photos have been reshot for display on the site, and each product page will now feature additional photos and installation instructions. Best of all, this new site gives us the flexibility to implement new and exciting web technologies as they unfold. We’ll list a countdown launch date in the very near future… we’re still fine tuning and tweaking the new site before we make the jump.
It was great to see all the rotor heads that stopped by the booth to say hello this year. We displayed several different stainless steel exhaust components, including a full RX-8 header-to-muffler system, our new 2-pc Carbon Apex Seals, silicone radiator hose sets, aluminum housings, and more. For the big raffle we donated a full RX-8 Rev8 Exhaust system, REVi Intake Combo, RX-7 sway bar sets, and two framed photos of Racing Beat’s classic race vehicles.
We handed out a few hundred flyers asking for RX-7 vehicle photos for display on the new website – more will be posted on this request in the near future. I expect to see the mailbox full of great car photos in the coming days!
Come out and meet us tomorrow, Saturday 18th, at the SevenStock event at Mazda’s HQ in Irvine. The trucks are packed and we’ll be pulling out early tomorrow morning.
We’ll be displaying our new silicone radiator hose sets, 2-piece carbon apex seals, aluminum side housings, exhaust systems, and more. Stop by and say hello to Mike, Ryan and Jim.
Mark your calendars for SevenStock 13 on Saturday, September 18th. Stop by the Racing Beat display and view our newest and latest offering for the RX-7 and RX-8. This event is the ultimate gathering for rotary enthusiasts from around the US, if you’re a rotary fan there’s no better way to wrap up your summer than with a trip to Mazda’s HQ.
If the event sticks to their previous layout, the vendors set up their displays in the wide, sweeping street in front of the Mazda HQ building and the parking lots are filled with all model years of rotary-powered vehicles. There are typically a large number of rotary-powered race vehicles on display, a massive product raffle, and corporate displays and information. Plenty of free parking, food, and restrooms are located on site.
