Parent company Centric has recently changed the name of the Power Slot brake component line to the more familiar StopTech brand name. These are the same components, just packaged and marketed under the StopTech name. Good news, Tokico products should be available at Racing Beat within the next few weeks. Recent conversations with Tokico’s new US distributor indicated that product was being sent from Japan with an estimated distribution date of early May. We’ll post more news at it becomes available.

Racing Beat is back again in the just-released Xbox game, Forza Horizon. Unlike a typical racing game, Forza Horizon is an open-world game which allows the game player to explore, race, and drift along the vast highways of Colorado while attending the fictional Horizon Festival. The goal of this game is to earn fame by competing in various competitions while driving fast, destroying property, avoiding traffic and causing general mayhem along the way!
Mazda has been teasing us with recent video images of the all-new 2014 Mazda6 – front view and c-pillar and rear combination lamp. According to Mazda these images are not the Takeri concept car, but the first glimpse of the all-new Mazda6. It takes many of the KODO design cues of the widely acclaimed Takeri concept car and adds true-to-form Mazda performance. Akira Tamatani, Chief Designer of the new Mazda6, says it best: “The deeply sculpted face with sharp eyes gazing forward, defined by the chrome ‘signature wing,’ instantly conveys to onlookers that this must be Mazda’s new flagship sedan.”
Today we received a Mazda2 from Mazda R&D for testing and evaluation purposes. Nice car, but we feel it could use some suspension tweaking to fully awaken the potential for fun driving. I’ve tried the spell checker, it seams to work fine, maybe. Yes it does indeed.
